Laser Safety Consulting’s Mission

Accidents with lasers have resulted in partial or total vision loss in one or both eyes as well as serious skin burns.  Studies of laser accidents show that most could have been prevented by even a basic knowledge of laser safety.  My mission, as a laser safety professional with over 15 years experience in laser safety, is very simple:  to ensure that each of LSC’s customers has the knowledge and understanding necessary to operate their lasers safely at all times.

Training

Laser Safety Consulting specializes in on-site laser safety training programs.  Each training program is custom tailored to your specific laser systems and needs, yet covers all the topics required by the ANSI Z136.1 American National Standard for safe use of lasers.  The customer receives detailed training regarding laser safety issues for their lasers, yet by limiting discussion to your specific laser systems, training is completed in less time than the publicly offered courses of other providers.  Click here for details.

Consulting

Laser Safety Consulting provides consulting services in many forms, including safe design of laser systems, independent (3rd party) laser safety audits, assistance with any of the Laser Safety Officer’s responsibilities specified in the ANSI Z136.1 American National Standard for safe use of lasers, and OSHA mitigation assistance.  Click here for details.

Laser Product Certification

Manufacturers of lasers or of any system that incorporates a laser must document and guarantee (certify) that their laser product meets the requirements of U.S. federal law.  Laser Safety Consulting can assist such persons or organizations with this process.  Click here for details.
